20241028333The Applied College at the University of Jeddah was originally established as the Community College following Royal Decree No. (7385), issued on 26/2/1434 AH. In alignment with the outcomes of the university’s restructuring project—mandated by royal decree—and in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Education regarding the transformation of community colleges into applied colleges, the college was renamed the College of Applied Studies. This change was officially approved by the University President under Decision No. (00476-05-41), issued on 13/3/1441 AH. Subsequently, the University Affairs Council, through Resolution No. (9/4/1442), dated 14/9/1442 AH, mandated the conversion of community colleges, colleges of applied studies, and colleges of continuing education into applied colleges.
Since its inception, the Applied College has been dedicated to enhancing the effectiveness of its academic programs by prioritizing disciplines that align with labor market demands. This commitment is reflected in the continuous review and optimization of academic curricula to ensure that course offerings provide maximum relevance and value, aligning seamlessly with evolving industry requirements.
